"He's Terry. He's 19.
You're Emma. You're 17.
It's 1993.
You don't have to speak if you don't want to."
Performed as part of Control25, spectators/performers were taken through a simple re-enactment of the real life break-up of a team members 'first love'. The audience member is picked up in a car by their 'boyfriend' and taken for a ride through the city. Everything seems normal and it becomes clear that you are in a relationship. Then he pulls over and stops. Things begin to get awkward as he struggles to tell you that its over!
This performance explored how we manage difficult conversations, how placing someone into the memory and personal experience of one person can also trigger emotional memories for the audience.
People reacted in many different ways to 'being dumped'. Some were silent and others were furious!
